Essential Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:  

• Perform Cycle and Spot counts regularly and make necessary transactions to ensure accurate Part Code and Lot quantities  
• Review and update plant locations in the nursery  
• Input Loss Reports and Changes of Location into ROSS  
• Monitor crops and make transactions to ensure appropriate plant status  
• Input and maintain plant notes based on seasonally appropriate plant characteristics  
• Assist with Annual Physical Inventory  

Quality and Salability:  

• Audit grow crops for salability based on company quality standards within two weeks prior to due date expiration  
• Monitor crops in selling based on company quality standards and change to appropriate status as needed  
• Update SharePoint communication page with changes regarding changes in salable quantities that affect Dated Sales Orders  
• Provide photos upon request  

Order Fulfillment and Distribution Responsibilities:  

• Maintain Pull Locations in ROSS with accurate Lot Rating, House Rating, and Pull/No Pull status  
• Assist Pullers with inventory discrepancies during pulling  
• Monitor and update plant height information on Cage Tables  
• Assist Growers in coordinating Virtual Orders and Transfer Orders  
• Communicate inventory quantity and quality issues to Sales, Operations, and Production  

Production Support:  

• Provide feedback to Growers on field observations including mixed crops, cultural issues, pests, etc.  
• Meet with growers on a weekly basis to review crop statuses.   
• Regroup regularly with Department Growers    

Department Support:  

• Bring issues to the Inventory Supervisor and Nursery Manager’s attention  
• Attend inventory department and Department Grower meetings  
• Cross-train as needed  
• Perform other tasks as needed    

Cost Accounting:  

• Understand all inventory related transactions and the effect on cost accounting  
• Identify issues and problems and bring them to the attention of the Inventory Supervisor, Nursery Manager & Comptroller  

Knowledge & Skills Required:

• Ability to manage time efficiently  
• Ability to pay attention to detail  
• Good oral and written communication skills  
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software  
• Horticulture experience or similar industry  
• Mathematical proficiency  
• Valid Driver’s License  

Preferred Experience:

• Associate’s degree in horticulture or similar industry  
• 1-2 years of inventory work experience  
• 1-2 years of manufacturing or production-related experience
